Spruce on the Green Lit for the Season
The Booster Club's cocoa table runs dry by seven o'clock
By Maggie Thorne
The big spruce on the Green was lit on Saturday evening at six o'clock, as it is every year on the first Saturday of December, with the Regional High chorus singing from the Meeting House steps.
Roads & Grounds strung the tree on Thursday from the bucket truck. The Booster Club's cocoa table ran dry by seven, and the Diner stayed open late to take up the slack.

To the Editor: A driver left a copy of your paper on the counter where I stop for coffee, and I have read it through twice. Many years ago I worked nights a long way from here, watching a field. One night a single light came down over the far fence and stood there without a sound. In the morning we were told it had not happened, and asked to forget it, and I have tried. I am old now. Your paper made me want to say it once, to people who would print it without a fuss.
