Gray Holds Off Blue, 14 to 13, as the Season Closes

Most of the Township turns out in a light drizzle for the intrasquad finale

Most of the Township turned out on Saturday evening for the Blue-Gray Game, the intrasquad contest that closes the Regional High season, and the Gray side held on for a 14 to 13 win when the Blue's last pass fell incomplete at the goal line.

The game was played in a light drizzle that did nothing to thin the home bleachers, painted blue and gray last month by the Booster Club. The Blue led 13 to 7 at the half on two field goals and a long run; the Gray answered with a short touchdown pass early in the fourth and made the extra point.

Coach Ben Halloran thanked the families, the Booster Club and the Diner, which kept the coffee coming. The Booster Club reports that the cider was gone by halftime and the doughnuts soon after.
