Halvorsen Daughter Brings Texas Beau Home
By Maggie Thorne
Karin and Anders Halvorsen had a full table last weekend. Their daughter Elin, away at university, came home for the weekend and brought with her Mr. Wade Callahan, a friend of two years, on his first visit to the Township.
Mr. Callahan is a fourth-generation cattleman from the Two Bar C Ranch in Texas and a grandson of the late Emmett Callahan, who worked it for most of his life.
Over Sunday coffee, Mr. Callahan said he means to go home in time and run the ranch as his father and his grandfather did. “I want a place I'm supposed to come back to,” he said. “And I want to be the kind of man who actually comes back.”
We look forward to welcoming him home again.

Harvest Supper Serves 210
By Maggie Thorne
The Harvest Supper at the Meeting House on Saturday served 210 people at three sittings, with another forty takeout dinners from the side door. The kitchen committee roasted eleven turkeys, and the pie table, for once, had pie left over at the end of the night.
The committee thanks the Township for the loan of its folding tables and the Regional High chorus for the singing between sittings.
